I know! I ask myself, how can an add-on with such a failtastic interface be so full of chocolatey goodness? But the interface is half the fun -- you can find whole new features just by clicking things and wondering, "What does this do?"
The LJ markup will still work, for backwards compatibility and crossposting :)
Clearly someone needs to get on the addons issue; the difficulty being that all the DW devs are currently occupied in making the site work. On the other hand, there's a lot better chance that needed functionality will get added to the site itself than there is on LJ.
I personally do plan to go through all of the popular addons and see what kind of features they have, and then open bugs to add the stuff that we can do easily/cheaply. (Some of the things that addons do are things that really are better handled on the user end, but still.)
Just for the record, I meant the add-ons comment as a general flail, not a criticism of DW. Which is new and shiny, and has my full approval so far. *cuddles it*
Oh, no, I didn't take it as such! I'm just so excited at the chance to go through and add all the awesome things that we could add to actually deal with how people are really using DW, not how marketing & sales wants them to be using it. ;)

That LJ add-on is like the tastiest crack around.

It's like the Easter egg hunt of add-ons.

I must admit that I was sceptical from what I knew of the interface but GENIUS! UTTER GENIUS.
