I've re-enabled comments at LJ, as too many people were being shut out, and I keep forgetting to grant access to OpenID accounts on DW. Systems: only as good as the idiots running them, ie, me.

If you have both options, I'd prefer to get comments from DW, as their notifications are more reliable, but I'm not going to be dictatorial about it anymore.

And now to re-heat my handy (heh) heat pack.

One of my recent Epic Posts of Complaining garnered a few PMs of support from people who couldn't comment at DW because they didn't have access there. And it seemed easier to re-open LJ comments than to go through my lists and work out who had OpenID accounts at DW, etc.

If people are commenting on LJ, could you please enable the DW setting that shows the links to your crossposts? Then we can see what people are saying on LJ more easily.

You could just run a new import every couple of weeks to catch any stray OpenIDs? That way, even if you keep comments open at LJ, people who want to participate in the discussion at DW can do so.
