    • Dichen Lachman was born in Nepal and her mother is Tibetan
    • Episode 7, "Chikhai Bardo”, the first to focus on her character, has dialogue and subtext about the bardos, the Tibetan Buddhist concept of liminal states. "Chikhai bardo", as Lachman's character says, is the death of ego
    • There's also dialogue about Everest, a Nepalese and Tibetan sacred mountain littered with the bodies of those who have tried to climb it
    • I've been seeing Lachman pop in things for years, and this might be the first time a work has quietly engaged with her heritage
    • Anyway, Severance: it's good

Would it be weird to create a weekly newsletter covering things I'm watching and reading? I know that's what Dreamwidth is for, but I like the idea of aggressively putting it in people's inboxes. I could do both. I absolutely have time and energy to commit to a new project.

I've always been pleased to see Lachman show up on stuff over the years, but she's never stuck around for long. So happy to see her on a show that can give you so much to chew on.

I didn't realize she was in Dollhouse, a show that imo did nothing but waste its actors' talents. I'm glad to see her in something actually good.

It would not be weird. Go for it!
