lizbee30 Days of Avatar: Day 7. Favorite Animal
...so it turns out that I have a lot more Momo gifs than Appa. HOWEVER, I also have a brand new plush Appa! And Momo!
...man, Instagram pictures are kind of huge, aren't they?
Now, I have to confess that I was kind of ... unexcited when I realised that Avatar had animal characters. I thought they would be cutesy and annoying, and possibly talk.
Instead, they turned out to be cute and realistic, and only talk when people are hallucinating. They became characters in the way that pets become members of the family, and the writers never forget that they are, first and foremost, animals. Intelligent animals, but not just furry people. (I find anthropomorphised animals creepy. Blech.) And I liked the way characters took care of them, like Aang remembering to send Momo away before his battle with Ozai.
