The smirk is the new gleam

lizbeeDisco is giving me flashbacks to Harry Potter fandom c2000 - 2003, ie we're about to spend a week ... at least ... obsessing over a brief expression on Jason Isaacs' face and developing wild(er than usual) theories about what it means.
Is he smirking as Michael bows to Emperor Georgiou because he's an infiltrator from the Mirror Universe and this is all part of his long game to steal the throne? Or because ... I don't know, after three days in an agony booth, it's nice to see someone else suffering?
(Come to think of it, "obsessing over Jason Isaacs's face" is exactly how I spent 2002 and part of 2003. Time well spent!)
My fear is that it's going to end up like the mysterious Gleam In Dumbledore's Eye when he hears at the end of GoF that Voldemort now carries some of Harry's blood. What did it mean? Was Dumbledore secretly evil?
No! He was just a guy making terrible choices with the best of intentions, and we were all reading way too much into a throwaway line. I'm seriously hoping that history doesn't repeat, because if nothing else, I'm not sure what I'm going to do if it turns out that Lorca's just a flawed guy with a lot of trauma.
(Probably write an essay comparing him to Dumbledore. Thesis: Your Mentors Will Always Disappoint You, Especially The Men, Just Burn The Whole Thing Down, Honestly, Why Does This Keep Happening, Anyway, How's 2018 Going For You So Far?)
The important thing is that we only have to wait, at most, a few weeks for the outcome here, and it's fairly unlikely that anyone will die of drapery. (Note, however, that I'm not ruling it out.)
THIS IS ALL VERY STRESSFUL. Luckily I just remembered that the new Legend of Korra graphic novel is due in shops tomorrow, so maybe I can distract myself with some Beifong feels.
