Once again, I've come to the end of a sketchbook. Some highlights, all in their rough form, ie a bit fail.

What is it about Christmas that makes people want to draw absurd festive scenes? I wanted to draw Sarah and John decorating the tree with tiny Terminator skulls. Of course, I'd forgotten that I can't draw trees, detailed scenes or skulls. I'm a bit pleased with the likeness of Sarah, though, even though I'm not totally sure what she's looking at.

calapine posted "Merry Christmas, Brigadier" on Christmas Day, my time. I was feeling all mopey because I was sick and my computer was broken, and then there was this fic that made me terribly happy. So I promised to draw Romana in her Santa outfit with Martha. And I did, and now (at last!) I have scanned it.

I didn't quite manage the beard. Sorry, calapine. I think I failed a bit at pineapple hair, too.

I feared I was getting into a rut with all this fan art, so I decided to attempt a straight photo-based portrait. I'm pretty happy with the result, and will probably ink it as soon as I find my fine marker.

I did have plans to do a whole series of UK poplets, but got stuck on Lady Sovereign's hair. And then I couldn't find any good photos of Kate Nash that showed her face, and Amy Winehouse ... let's not think about Amy Winehouse.

As promised -- or was that "threatened" -- ages ago. This is terribly rough, and I'll probably need to draw a whole new clean version before I'm happy with it. But there are bits I like, like Katherine Parr's hat and Katherine Howard's smile.
