lizbee: The TARDIS in space, with some kind of lightshow in the background. Text: infinity (DW: TARDIS (infinity))

Borders Australia currently has a sale on Doctor Who DVDs, selling them off for $16.99 each. (That includes some box sets, if anyone else harbours a need to own "Time-Flight" and "Arc of Infinity". *lovingly eyes DVD shelf*)

This in itself is a good thing, since BBC DVDs are usually EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, but I keep seeing children -- aged between eight and fifteen, I would guess -- coming in and, after carefully examining the reduced DVDs, buying Classic Who. Lots of Four and Five have sold, and I talked a little boy into "The Invasion", because Troughton-era Cybermen were the scariest.

Much as I love New Who -- and I do, which is why I bitch about its failings so much, because it could be so much better -- there's something special about Classic Who, and meeting all those old Doctors and companions for the first time. A little boy came in to spend his allowance on the E-Space trilogy box set. I melted.
