YES, I WATCHED "ATONEMENT" AGAIN. I have this problem, you see, where I'm pretty sure that when the Soul Hunter, way back in season one, described Dukhat as "the pinnacle of Minbari evolution", what he actually meant was "I don't know, he's just weirdly sexy with that little beard and the subtle German accent". And now I have "In the Beginning" sitting on my hard drive, TAUNTING ME, so I had to go back to "Atonement" for the sake of my insanity.

Yes. Truly he was thebest most handsomest of them. Look at those cheekbones, man. Totally worth going to war over their destruction. Just ask Delenn.

Her Dainty Collarbones Of Acolyteness are also adorable. I feel a picspam coming on!

Dukhat's always circling, and always listening. It's quite intense, and tiny!Delenn is trying so hard not to be freaked out by it. Bless.

"Don't interrupt when I'm going kind. It doesn't happen often."
Or, to put it another way, "You have intelligence, common sense and the ability to think. No one likes a thinker. I'm going to have to teach you myself."

Flash forward, and in a manner appropriate to mentor/apprentice relationships, they have attained a more equal footing. OH HAI, LOVELY GREY COUNCIL ROBES, YOU ARE WEIRDLY STYLISH.
Also, visiting in quarters after hours.

And touching.

Also, he's stupidly tall. But that's neither here nor there.

Then I got to thinking about how the Delenn-Lennier relationship is explicitly set up to mirror Delenn and Dukhat, and started to worry that I was engaging in a double standard by not shipping both. Only, Lennier is a totally different character, and a totally different personality to Delenn. And he never moves to stand with Delenn on an equal footing. Also, he's not ridiculously tall. (Shut up, that's important. Sheridan is also tall. But Dukhat >>>>>>> Sheridan times a millionty. Obviously.)
And, I quite like Lennier, because of rather than in spite of the fact that he's the B5 resident most likely to be a serial killer. Aside from the actual serial killers, of course. (One of the advantages of watching an old, closed canon is that you're not going to be taken by surprise when someone randomly decides to ditch the technology and colonise Australia. And no one's going to start glowing and floating. Except Kosh, obviously.) But Lennier doesn't challenge Delenn in the right way.
FINALLY AND IN CONCLUSION: Dukhat >you Sheridan. But you know that all ready.

Yes. Truly he was the
