Your irregularly scheduled Babylon 5 post!

I love the first half of season 3, because it has all these moments that prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the crew of B5 are like, the worst conspirators ever. You have G'Kar running around the Zocalo, demanding to be part of the Sekrit Inner Circle -- granted, this is to do with their other secret war, but I doubt the nice fascists of Night Watch would care -- and then you have Marcus (who knows exactly what's at stake) running around, declaiming about his missing information suppliers. Not to mention putting the Sekrit Inner Circle Flowchart down on paper. YOU FAIL SO HARD, MARCUS. SO VERY HARD.
Of course, at the same time, we have Team EarthForce attending a military gathering, in a bar for military personnel, complaining because their conspicuous civilian friend wasn't invited. This is a useful demonstration of Geek Social Fallacies #1, #4 and #5, but it's no way to run a conspiracy. I mean, I love that Sheridan's basically a great big dork who's somehow managed to convince the universe that he's cool, but really. There are limits. They might as well come up with a hashtag and conduct their revolution on Twitter.
I am having OTP problems on this viewing. Not serious ones, merely irritations. Like, the first time I watched B5, it was completely obvious when and why Sheridan fell in love with Delenn. This time around, I was paying attention to Delenn, trying to figure her out. No such luck. Not only is she hard to read, but a lot of the time the camera simply doesn't give us shots that would tell us how she is reacting to Sheridan. Which gives a person room to play, if she is inclined to see things from Delenn's point of view anyway, but it's also frustrating.
(Next time I complain about Delenn being so much less mysterious than she was in the first season, please kindly refrain from linking me back to this post and thwapping me upside the head.)
Have to confess that my B5 rewatch sort of slowed down because The Middleman ate my brain. And then I watched three episodes in a row, and then there was no show left. COME BACK, SHOW! I need you! I was going to make a list of reasons why the Middle Organisation pwns Torchwood, but then I got to the bit where the Middle Peeps have Ida, while Torchwood only has Ianto, and then I realised that was all that needed to be said. Except this: COME BACK, SHOW! I DIDN'T THINK AMERICANS MADE TV LIKE YOU! *weeps*
