TOS: What Are Little Girls Made Of?
Mar. 29th, 2010 08:59 pmSeriously, I expected this to be yet another round of Gene Roddenberry Has Really Toxic Issues With Women, but it turned out to be Quite Good In Spite Of Silly 1960s Sexism. I was all set to be eye-rolly at Christine setting aside her own career in SKIENCE to find her fiance, but really, that's kind of brave and lovely. And once she's found her fiance, only to discover that he is a CRAZY OVERALL-WEARING ANDROID, she decides to stay in Starfleet. Because space travel is awesome.
(Yes, yes, she is a TERRIBLE WHORE for falling in love with Spock while searching for her fiance, but I can only assume that even she hadn't recognised her feelings until the Psi-2000 virus made her realise. Which was, unfortunately, about three minutes before she spilled her guts to Spock himself. Hey, kids, JUST SAY NO to alien space viruses!)
