I don't know, maybe some of the vaguely alluded-to advanced Silurian tech could help them out there? I was commenting on the screenwriter's apparent assumption that desert environments are ipso facto devoid of people, not holding up an UNSUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT YAY sign.
