lizbeeGUYS GUYS GUYS! Azula put together a crack team of girls boarding school drop out assassins*, ordered by her father to kill her uncle and brother -- all while passing the Bechdel Test. She's like my id character -- talented, perfectionist woman holding power in the centre of great events -- only CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY. She would be my favourite, except there are so many other female characters to love as well. AND the boys! It is so rare for me to watch a series and not spend at least part of my time going, "Yes, yes, enough of your manly pain, let's get to the ladies."
THIS SERIES! I can't even be coherent. I can only squee. I keep thinking of other fandoms, but Avatar sort of creeps in. Like how there really ought to be fic about Iroh, Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher, while Katara bonds with the squid, Aang inspires Harry to contemplate body art, and the combined presence of Draco, Snape and Zuko causes Slytherin House to be sucked into a black hole of EPIC EMO. Where's Azula? Probably telling Bellatrix to get ahold of herself, stop sucking up Voldemort and strike out and be evil on her own. Only Azula probably doesn't think she's evil, she's just combining efficiency with a little bit of fun.
You know who else is my hero? Mai. She's like Daria, if Daria coped with high school by becoming a ninja. THIS SHOW, GUYS! I AM SO INCOHERENT WITH JOY!
* OH COME ON, like I'm not going to want to write fic about Ozai's Angels at the Royal Fire Academy for Girls! Just like Enid Blyton, only with more pyromania!

Zuko is the kind of character I normally find really annoying but they actually managed to make me care about his manly pain. Possibly because he spends the time he's not busy shedding a single manly tear being an utter dork.

I don't think she is a "full villain" if you get what I mean. You'll probably understand her motives later on, but Azula is one of those antagonists who are antagonists because they have different views and interests that clash with the main characters' ones. I hope you write fic about this fandom!! (I was one of your Lily/Snape fanfic "There is no such place" readers, back in the day XD)

SERIOUSLY THOUGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH. BOTH OF THEM, BUT ESPECIALLY AVATAR, UGH I AM SO GLAD PEOPLE ARE WATCHING IT. :DDDDDDD I love Katara! And Suki! And Ty Lee! And Sokka is like Xander if he weren't awful! Also Zuko's ~feelings~! OH YOU HAVE TO TALK TO ME WHEN YOU GET TO THE EPISODE ABOUT ZUKO'S MOM, SHE IS MY FAAAAAAVORITE. Except for Kastara. And Ty Lee.
