The other day I stumbled across the theory that Ty Lee is descended in some way from Air Nomads. I haven't been able to decide if I like it for its cracksome pathos, or resent it for being too neat.

Ty Lee is ALL OF THOSE THINGS. And also maybe descended from the Air Nomads. But she doesn't really care, she's happy as long she gets to do handstands. :D

She really is convincingly capable of all of them but yes, HANDSTANDS ARE WHERE IT'S AT.

It took me a few viewings to really get on board the Ty Lee train, but man oh man she has grown on me in such a huge way.

I think it may be time for a rewatch, actually. It's been far too many months since I had one.

I was thinking of starting a small, low-pressure rewatch comm for my friends, where meta, lulz, flailing and gifs are all appropriate responses. If we started now, grouped together all the multi-parters, we'd be done by Korra.

(I didn't realise how much I loved Ty Lee until one of my RL friends, watching the show for the first time, was saying she didn't like her. I was all, "No! Ty Lee is the only one of those kids with any emotional intelligence whatsoever!"

Hey, for those who aren't afraid of spoilers (I think there was maybe one thing that I wasn't spoiled for in a general sort of way? And that I had just assumed anyway?) it would be an epic means of watching the series for the first time.

I hope they turn up some more Air Nomads from somewhere. Obviously Aang's gotta have a lot of kids, but since intertribal marriage doesn't seem to be frowned upon hopefully there are a lot of part-Air-Tribe people in the other tribes who might sort of adopt back into the Air Tribe to help recreate it. (Especially since what with the genocide I imagine everyone with Air blood who could was hiding it and pretending to be one of the other tribes.)
