In which the Avatar: Lost Adventures comic caters entirely to my interests!

I was deeply pleased to realise the other day that there are, in fact, multiple fics where Zuko's paternity is in doubt due to Ursa's friendship with Piandao. This meets with my approval for several reasons:

- I get a sadistic amusement out of having Zuko's whole angst being rendered effectively meaningless
- It is so very improbable, on account of Zuko and Ozai being basically identical
- Ursa and Piandao have never interacted in canon, but that is no reason not to ship them
- This AU is pretty great.

Anyway, I was particularly tickled by this throwaway line in the new comic collection:





Even without the baggage listed above, the fact that it is now semi-canon that Piandao taught Zuko swordsmanship is great, and needs to be ficced lots. The rest is just gravy. Delicious gravy.



UNRELATED, except for the obvious, this was my reaction to the Game of Thrones finale.



Apologies to those who who have already rolled their eyes at it on Tumblr, but ... well, Tumblr's just not quite real, you know?

I found the others by looking for Ursa and/or Piandao fics on FF.net, but I have to warn you, they're not remotely near as good as the AU. It's like the fics about Zuko and Katara being forced into a political marriage against their will: so much potential! So little of it utilised!

I have been staying off of Tumblr since my usual E Street Band sources are just depressing me post-Clarence's death, so I am quite grateful for this! Also oh my god, I would read so much of that pairing. SO MUCH.

Also I want a million fics about Piandao attempting to train Zuko and just hating his life and continuing to try anyway. I mean, obvs there is super-serious and heartbreaking fic you could write on that premise too, but I can't deal with a lot of actual feelings right now, I just want Zuko's FEELINGS and Piandao's quiet weariness.

I KNOW! That and the Zuko/Sandor Clegane I promised you ages ago, although that basically boiled down to the Hound going, "Oh, piss on your honour."

I just want Zuko's FEELINGS and Piandao's quiet weariness.

Things Zuko is no longer allowed to do in Master Piandao's lessons:

- use his swords to cut down tree branches
- or whole trees
- practice ritual suicide
- practice beheading his sister
- pretend his sword is an Air Nation battle glider
- make dresses for his swords and have tea parties with them
- use them as props in air shamisen battles

Thanks for the rec -I was far frome home for a week with only my phone for internets, and I wondered where the sudden flurry of kudos on that fic came from :D Feeling totally validated now that it is indeed semi-canon that Piandao taught Zuko.

As for Dany/Zuko: will get back to you on this. I just gave in and started reading Game of Thrones. Am now halfway through the book and about to watch the first episode. Yays.

"Teaching Zuko" in this case being a euphemism for "having eyesex with Ursa over her son's head".

And that awkward conversation between Zuko's reunion with Iroh and going off to fight Azula, where he's all like, "Quick check, you're not my biological father, are you?"

And Piandao goes, "...No."

"Wow, that's a load off my mind."

"Your sister, on the other hand..."

Nope. I saw some actual download links on Tumblr, but I just had a quick squiz, and the Airbender tag is full of bad porny fan art.
