An old whinge

lizbeeThe annoying thing about needing to rest my hands due to an arthritic flare-up is that pretty much all my leisure activities involve my hands. I don't even watch TV without quilting or sketching at the same time!
So I've read over half of Midnight in Peking (which I'm mostly enjoying; I thought it would be one of those histories that goes, "Yeah, lots of complicated and interesting stuff was happening in China, but WHAT ABOUT THE WHITE PEOPLE?" but it actually strikes a pretty good balance so far. Even though it commits my Least Favourite Non-Fiction Sin Ever, which is getting deep into speculation about the thoughts and feelings of various historical personages) and watched a whole disc of season 1 of Community.
And, yes, I did draw a tiny bit, because ... hands, not using them, strange feeling. At this stage, though, I need another break.
My Tumblr feed has a bunch of posts about white people eating Asian food with forks. I'm like, SCREW YOU, GUYS, I KNOW HOW TO USE CHOPSTICKS BUT MY FINGERS AREN'T THAT BENDY WHEN THEY'RE INFLAMED.
