lizbeeYes, I did need three new Lin Beifong icons, and then I needed to upload all of them into my limited LJ icon slots!
(That's not a cry for paid LJ time! I have a permanent DW account, and that's enough. Um, saying that pre-emptively feels pretty wanky, but people have gifted me with time before -- in fact, my permanent account at DW was an anonymous gift for which I'm terribly, terribly grateful -- so.)
It has occurred to me that the last time I was this excited for a major development in a show in the episode that preceded a season finale was ... the week between "The Sound of Drums" and "Last of the Time Lords". (Back then I wrote a whole multi-chaptered fic in a week! But given that I have a full-time job and a social life these days, two 700 word ficlets feels like an equally vast achievement.)
Remembering the VIOLENT HATRED AND DISAPPOINTMENT I felt in the wake of "Last of the Time Lords" has helped me regulate my expectations somewhat, although at least saving the world through the power of glowing and floating would make more sense in this universe. Mostly I hope Lin doesn't die.
(Around the same time LotTL aired, AtLA finished its second season. I had totally been planning to watch it next, since I was living withweaver at the time and she was talking about it quite a lot, but apparently something terrible happened in the finale, and the fandom was rioting, and it was all about some character named Zuko who sounded like an even-less-interesting version of leather pants!Draco, and I just couldn't be bothered. Yeah, oops.)
