My headcanon is that Toph was the one who brought the Earth King back to his throne, there was a tryst, Toph totally refused his proposal (leading him, heartbroken, to be pressured into marrying someone else politically, augh), and Lin is actually, secretly the True Earth Queen. (Who would totally set up a republic and abdicate.) But your commentary about hairstyles has a certain weight!

These are obviously important things. Honestly. Not just my brain being unable to cope with the rest of the awesome.

No, no, they are all important. My favourite thing about the time jump is that now I don't have to scramble to finish my Lin/Mako in a week, because the first few months after the finale won't be minutely accounted for, and Mako is probably not going to tell Korra he had a secret thing with the chief while they were busting police corruption.

Aw but c'mon! She'd be like "Well, Rohan is toilet trained, and Jinora's always away on airbending stuff...I kinda do miss having a baby around."

And Tenzin would be all heart-eyed and she'd go "Yeah, okay, just one more. But I swear to all the spirits, if this kid is another airbender, you have to do all the changing, because I am so tired of weighing down all the diapers."

You know that Batman comic where he's found a baby, and he's just going around Gotham, being Batman, but with a baby? And even criminals are like, "Dude, you gotta support the head."
