11. Who is your current OTP?
Prime!Lorca/Cornwell. Yes, I know we haven't met prime!Lorca beyond a fairly mediocre tie-in novel, but I figure he must be pretty close to mirror!Lorca, but presumably less homicidal, xenophobic, self-aggrandizing or ... you know.
I'm just very into the whole "we've known each other forever, and we tell ourselves we have this incredibly simple relationship of friendship and occasionally sex, but actually we care very deeply for each other" vibe. Especially with bonus "also it's very complicated and a bit unethical on account of the difference in rank".
It's actually a lot like Riker/Troi, but older, and Lorca is a much more interesting character than Riker. And, of course, there's no artificial need to play coy with their relationship.
I also like pairings of older characters where they never quite got together -- or maybe they did, and it didn't work out -- and that was the right decision at the time, but now their lives and circumstances have changed, and they find themselves revisiting and redefining their relationship.
12. Who is your current OT3?
I'm kind of into (prime)Lorca/Cornwell/Burnham. Yes, it'd need some serious groundwork by an author, or, at least, implicit groundwork. But it'd be complicated and troubling and hot.
13. Any NoTPs?
L'Rell/Ash.
Actually, I'm not into any Klingon shipping on account of the double genitalia thing, because ... okay, it reminds me of koalas. Koalas also have double genitals -- well, the males have bifurcated penises and the females have two vaginas and uteri. And it's impossible to understate how gross koalas are. They piss and shit everywhere, chlamydia is endemic, they make really awful noises. Some would say, well, you know, Klingons.
But not me. I prefer to just say no to Klingons post-redesign.
(Also, Philippa/Michael. The more overtly maternal their relationship became, the less I could ship it. And then mirror!Philippa turned out to be Michael's actual [adopted] mother.)
14. Go on, who are your BroTPs?
Kat and L'Rell. I like to think they meet up every year on the anniversary of their meeting, to check in quietly on the state of the galaxy and have a drink and go, "Hey, remember that time I was your prisoner? And then you were mine? And we formed the bond that enabled Michael to end the war?" And then they high five or something, I dunno, I'm over here trying not to think about koalas.
15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?
Kat/Sarek. I mean. They stood next to each other in episode 14! They exchanged dialogue! Sarek attempted to be comforting! Clearly they are boning. With Amanda's consent and approval, I assume, which brings me to my next point:
Kat/Sarek/Amanda: totally a thing.
(Also totally a thing: Kat/Sarek/ex-Emperor Georgiou. I mean. The way Kat and Sarek both remark coyly on the resemblance between her and prime!Philippa. Foreshadowing? Or agreeing they need to ask her out?)
16. Are there any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?
I don't dislike it -- I enjoy it a lot in canon -- but I really don't have strong feelings for Stamets/Culber. There's nothing wrong with it! It's sweet, and they have great chemistry and dialogue, and I can't wait for Hugh to be un-fridged. It's just not my jam.
17. Who was your first OTP and are they still your favourite?
Ummmmmm, my first OTPs were Michael/Philippa and Michael/Sarek. YES, REALLY. I dunno, they had amazing chemistry in the pilot, and I was like, "Well, maybe she's not his adopted daughter, so it's sketchy but not THAT sketchy..."
I was all settled in to ship Michael with all three of her mentors, and look how well that worked out for me.
18. What ship have you written the most about?
Lorca/Cornwell, obviously.
19. Is there a ship which you wished you could get behind, but you just don’t feel them?
Michael/Tilly, I guess? I like it, but not enough to seek it out in fic.
20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?
I went from "Hey, I like that lady admiral' we'll probably never see again" to "I WILL DIE FOR KAT CORNWELL" in three episodes, I still have whiplash.
(I'm also more into CHARACTERS than SHIPS, I will mostly fixate on a character and ship them with EVERYONE.)
And I was kind of, "Oh, here we go, this will be awful" when I heard that Michael would have a love interest, but I really liked Ash, and liked how their relationship unfolded, start to end.
(Oh yeah! I really shocked myself by liking Lorca/Ash. Back before ... you know. I was frustrated that the fic was so ... soft and pastel, when I was into it because they were damaged soldiers who play homoerotic laser tag for fun. I don't usually enjoy m/m pairings, so that was unexpected.)

Date: 2018-04-07 11:14 am (UTC)I am now trying really hard not to think about Worf and Jadzia.* And I like that ship, damnit!
* Admittedly Jadzia is canonically fairly likely to just roll with unusual anatomical features, cf her conversation with Kira about her Gamellite ex with the transparent skull, but still, koala-esque bifurcated penises are not something I wish to think about, and I'm having trouble not).

(She was written with the intention of killing her off at the end of "Lethe", and I think that letting her live was one of the best last-minute changes to the season. Because it took her story from "woman makes bad choice about her sex life and is sent to her death as a result" to "woman makes a bad choice about her sex life, the consequences see her whole story become more complicated, original and woman-centred".)

Ahem
When I lived in NNSW the male koalas would come down from trees to fight during their mating season or whatever, and it sounded like wild pigs grunting and squealing and the ground would be all raked up in the morning... so some similarities with Klingons. But only if Klingons spent the rest of their time stoned and half asleep.
