The former editor of Cosmo, of all people, provides a handy round-up of Family First And Why They Are Evil. I'm even on the verge of unfollowing @fakefielding, because his jokes at the moment are things that people say in seriousness.

And while I'm calling out fail, "Wendy Francis = Crazy Person" is no one's idea of a clever headline, Crikey. I know plenty of crazy people, and most of them are too damn sensible to harbour such stupidity in their heads.

We also have the Victorian state president of One Nation promoting gay bashings, and generally failing to have good manners. (I made the mistake of reading the front page of his Twitter, which was a triggery mixture of Violent Reactions To Rapists and Ugly Misogyny. Good times! I totally don't recommend it!)

On the subject of ... well, more fail, here is a handy collection of Tony Abbott's thoughts on race, poverty, abortion, sex, homosexuality and a woman's right to refuse sex (he thinks it should be moderated).

GUYS GUYS GUYS! Azula put together a crack team of girls boarding school drop out assassins*, ordered by her father to kill her uncle and brother -- all while passing the Bechdel Test. She's like my id character -- talented, perfectionist woman holding power in the centre of great events -- only CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY. She would be my favourite, except there are so many other female characters to love as well. AND the boys! It is so rare for me to watch a series and not spend at least part of my time going, "Yes, yes, enough of your manly pain, let's get to the ladies."

THIS SERIES! I can't even be coherent. I can only squee. I keep thinking of other fandoms, but Avatar sort of creeps in. Like how there really ought to be fic about Iroh, Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher, while Katara bonds with the squid, Aang inspires Harry to contemplate body art, and the combined presence of Draco, Snape and Zuko causes Slytherin House to be sucked into a black hole of EPIC EMO. Where's Azula? Probably telling Bellatrix to get ahold of herself, stop sucking up Voldemort and strike out and be evil on her own. Only Azula probably doesn't think she's evil, she's just combining efficiency with a little bit of fun.

You know who else is my hero? Mai. She's like Daria, if Daria coped with high school by becoming a ninja. THIS SHOW, GUYS! I AM SO INCOHERENT WITH JOY!

* OH COME ON, like I'm not going to want to write fic about Ozai's Angels at the Royal Fire Academy for Girls! Just like Enid Blyton, only with more pyromania!
