Pillowfort
Jul. 11th, 2018 04:16 pmI may have once described Pillowfort as the Dashcon of social media platforms, but I also signed up for a beta account, just on the off chance it actually succeeds.
(You may laugh ... but by the time I gave in and conceded that Tumblr was A Thing, someone else had claimed my preferred username.)
Anyway, I'm there as lizbee, but I don't rate its chances of long-term success -- aside from the fact that future sign-ups are closed except to Kickstarter supporters (um), the "block user" and "report user" buttons are right next to the one for "send user a message", and the button for "delete account" is where you'd expect to find "save changes" on the edit settings page. I know very little about website design and usability, but that seems ... bad.
(Also, the ToU has a note to say they collect user data, but not what they use it for, or if they have any policies in place for sharing/not sharing said data. Seems like an oversight, no?)
