In which life is pain, literally.
Mar. 29th, 2005 10:46 amWent home sick from work today, as a random collection of symptoms finally decided they were all going to come out at once. These included a blinding headache, muscle cramps and spasms, arthritic pain, stomach cramps, chest pains and tightness in the chest. Cue much distress, followed by a very slow walk home and the making of a doctor's appointment. (At five this afternoon; note to self, don't forget.)
On the upside, I just spent half an hour on hold to our evil ISP, the worst customer service people in the world. And after much trauma, worry and hold music, I finally got them to send out a new router. Turns out that they'd lost all record of my previous calls. All of them. *shakes head*
And now for a fandom moment: I've been looking at Dan and Rupert in the new GoF pics, and I have to say they're both looking very cute, in a hairy way. Very hairy. But good hairy.
My hatred for Emma Watson and her smirky little prissy face, on the other hand, is growing exponentially. She's going on my List.
Also, remixes were revealed while I was away from the internet. So I am now allowed to tell you that I wrote I'll Kiss You (The Nice Aurors Don't Remix), remixing a story by
violet_quill. I was very nervous when I started it, but I ended up having mad fun. And I am very pleased to know that Death's Avatar (The Gift that Keeps on Taking Remix) was written by
bowdlerized. Thank you for such a beautiful remix.

Date: 2005-03-29 01:58 am (UTC)You just gotta love ISPs, though.... they're an evil company, without a doubt. I think they were invented to just infuriate people, not for anything else really. Glad to hear you got it sorted out, though!
Take care, have lots of bed rest, don't exercise physically too much, and make sure you see the doc!

Date: 2005-03-29 07:58 am (UTC)I have spent the entire day reading your story about Lily and Snape and I have to demand that you finish the story!! It's very well-written, and excruciatingly suspended. I mean, Order of the Phoenix came out ages ago, woman! I mean, ma'am. Ahem.
So, anything I could do to convince you to finish the story, just let me know. For reals.

Date: 2005-03-30 02:22 am (UTC)Unfortunately, the house came with two phone lines, and Telstra re-activated the wrong one (don't get me started on why it costs $59 for them to tell a computer/exchange to turn a phone line back on). So I ring them up to ask them to switch to the other line. They can't, because "there's a work order on the phone number" ... the ADSL activiation request put in by the ISP. So I have to ring the ISP to get them to rescind the work order (Telstra won't listen to *me*, even though, hey, I'm paying for it all), then wait for Telstra to activate the proper line, then I have to get the ISP to re-do their part again ... which means I'm still waiting for my nice shiny fast internet connection. Which I would have had in time for the Easter break if it wasn't for Telstra's mistake in the first place.

There's a bit of an <ick!> factor here, because there's a considerable age gap (but then again, there seem to be lots of middle-aged married women lusting after Radcliffe, so perhaps it's OK), but you know, I'm finding Ms. Watson cuter the more icons and such I see around the web. I guess people are finding her most attractive screen shots from the movies? I didn't really notice her much when I saw the movies - she's just a kid! - but when you see all these icons day in and day out they just seem to grow on one ...
(I hated her 'acting' in the first movie at least, her enunciation and general manner of speaking seemed very forced)
Hope that didn't put me on your list.
