Firefly, fic, OMG my head still hurts!
Sep. 28th, 2005 07:39 amWhen you see this on your flist, quote Firefly. Unless you don't want to.
[I can see myself growing weary of these memes pretty fast, but - Firefly! Serenity! Midnight screening in less than twelve hours! OMG!]
Mal: Now think real hard. You been bird-dogging this township a while now. They wouldn't mind a corpse of you. Now you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty flowered bonnet, I will end you.
(Our Mrs Reynolds)
(I mean, there were a million choices, and I thought long and hard over the "Well, look at this! Looks like we got here just in time. What does that make us?" / "Big damn heroes, sir." exchange, but I figure that's probably turning up all over the place. And I really love that line above, because it encapsulates the speech patterns and absurdity of the show so well.)
Also, because
synaesthete7 asked, and several ideas converged at once: a House/Cameron ficlet. No, really.
'Til It's Gone
by Lizbee
Summary: Everybody sing the chorus of "Big Yellow Taxi"!
Fandom: House
Pairing: House/Cameron
Rated: G
On an otherwise unremarkable day in June, Allison Cameron died in a freak anvil-related accident.
House found himself curiously saddened by this, and long after everyone else had started to move on, would sometimes find himself missing Cameron. He didn't stop to think about it too much; he just popped another Vicodin and got on with the job.
The end.
Headache still present, not yet at blinding intensity. Fortunately, I was going to the doctor's today anyway. Also heading into the city to pick up A Slight Trick of the Mind (which, incidentally, the nice boys at Pulp Fiction hadn't even heard of, so if you're sitting around wondering why x book hasn't appeared on their shelves, poke 'em about it -- the only authors they routinely order in hardback are Lois McMaster Bujold, Connie Willis, J. K. Rowling [who?] and maybe a couple of crime authors, depending on pre-orders). Other plans include cleaning, reading, editing and turning in early for a pre-midnight screening nap.

Date: 2005-09-28 02:54 am (UTC)Just looking at www.imdb.com, I thought Simon was being played by a totally different actor, looking at the photographs, but the credits give the same fellow, Sean Maher. Either he's not present in the photos I was looking at (and some other bloke/character was), he's changed a lot, or I've totally forgotten what he looked like.
While I don't want to exposed to any spoilers, I'll be curious as to whether you post a one-line summary tomorrow along the lines of "OMG! It's like the TV series, only better!" or "NO! Whedon sacrificed his values and made just another River-kicks-arse action movie!". The latter being what it seemed to look like from the trailer.
I haven't watched this 'House' at all, but I guess it's really good stuff, seems a lot of (HP) authors are focusing on it.
Hope your headache goes away, sounds horrid.
