1.  I love the prickly feeling of hairdye working its way into the skull.

2.  It's a bad sign when Bionic Woman is more entertaining than Heroes.

3.  You know how sometimes you have this really terrible idea for fic, and it's silly, self-indulgent, melodramatic or whatever, but still you want to write it?  Here's mine.  So the Doctor and Donna have arrived on an advanced, metropolitan human colony, because there's a weird energy thing that's caught the Doctor's attention, and he wants to find out what it's all about.  So they arrive in the vast city and set out tracking down the source, which turns out to be -- Romana.

Only it's not really Romana, because of course she has a pocket-watch.  She's a human historian named Maria, and at first she's faintly amused by the Doctor babbling, but then he mentions Time Lords and she becomes really cold, saying that Time Lords are just an old myth, and if you believe in them, you might as well believe in Daleks, or that human evolution was triggered by aliens.  "Well, actually..." says the Doctor.  But she doesn't want anything more to do with him, and says her husband works for colonial security, and if the Doctor so much as sees her walking down the street, she'll have him arrested.

And she walks off, leaving Donna to smirk and the Doctor to moan about another Time Lord with an inconvenient spouse.  Still, he's never let a little thing like threatened arrest stand between him and what he wants to know, so he and Donna set out to find out everything there is to know about Maria, including where she lives.

Cut to her apartment, where Maria's telling her husband Stephen about the crazy man who said she was a Time Lord, and they both laugh in that way where it's not really funny.  Because he has a pocket-watch, too, and they've both been having strange dreams -- been having them all their lives, actually, but they're getting worse, and now this stranger has turned up.  And it's particularly bad for Stephen, who dreams about being Co-Ordinator Narvin of the Celestial Intervention Agency, because he's in a sensitive job and undergoes frequent psychological tests.

Still, no time for introspection, because look, it's the Doctor!  On their doorstep!  Letting himself in, being obnoxious, and letting Donna be obnoxious, and talking about pocket-watches and chameleon arcs, and he knows about the dreams.  So Maria and Stephen are really freaked out, and then there's another knock at the door--

And it's Leela.  With K9.  Because it was Braxiatel who threw them in the arch and sent them here before the War began, and now it's over, and something is drawing attention to them, and Leela and K9 have been sent to get them back.  The last thing she's expecting is to find the Doctor.  And she doesn't much care for Romana as a human, and is extremely displeased about her being married to Narvin, which wasn't part of the plan.

And Maria's all, just say this is true, and if I open that watch, I'll be someone else.  Well, that's all nice and everything, but what about the wide effects.  Oh yeah, lol, she's pregnant.  (Donna probably says something inappropriate here.)

And they've barely had time to recover from that announcement, when the stormtroopers arrive.  Because, when I say there's an energy signal to be followed, and Romana and Narvin are attracting attention, I do actually mean to fire that first-act gun, even though I don't know what it is yet.  And violence occurs, and Maria discovers that her husband isn't actually just a bureaucrat, and there's some more violence, and I honestly have no idea of what happens next.  I wish I knew, though, it's very dissatisfying, being suspended mid-plot like this.

But...I like this idea. Let's take it to Broadway.

HOW DOES IT END?

Broadway, you say? Can it end with a big musical number and a kick-line?

I DON'T KNOW I'M STILL WRESTLING WITH THAT OTHER THING. STOP PRESSURING ME.

"Can it end with a big musical number and a kick-line?"

With lots of high-collared Gallifreyan robes being thrown off en masse to reveal little Rockette costumes? It damned well better.

I'm picturing Jem and the Holograms as the new leaders of Gallifrey. [Insert 'truly outrageous' joke here.]

2 makes me giggle insanely.

As does 3, but for totally different reasons.

#2 is trufax, cos of Katee Sackhoff's magnificently over the top performance as Sarah Corvus. You just sit there, waiting for her to snap a baby's neck FOR TEH EMMY GOODNESS.

Also coz Heroes and Bionic Woman need to death-match for all the genre guest stars, but that's obvious.

My only complaint about Bionic Lesbians this week was that Michelle Ryan's performance was more obviously a Garner imitation than usual. However, if Mary McDonnell doesn't want to make an appearance as Ma Sommers, there's always Lena Olin.

Y...y...
You are a genius who should totally send hundreds of unsolicited scripts to the BBC. Trufax.
IF YOU WROTE IT, I COULD PROBABLY COME UP WITH AN ENDING? M-MAYBE?

Okay, your idea is much better than mine. But Romana with a pocket watch deserves multiple stories about her, that's my excuse.

and I honestly have no idea of what happens next

They live happily ever after?

How is it that you aren't writing this story? The ending will come once you've got the rest down, I firmly hope believe.
