Well, I will just have to accept the fact that we will never agree on the Eighth Doctor audios and instead focus on the fact that you are SO FUCKING RIGHT with respect to Romana being bat-shit crazy. You have no idea how thrilled it makes me to hear you say it. That scene in the cell when she is talking to Vrint is one of my favorites bits in any BF audio ever. And considering I've heard them all (and most of them more than once), and the fact that The Apocalypse Element is one of my top 5 audios, that's really saying something. She absolutely lost her shit on Etra Prime and it is FABULOUS.

Alternatively, I strongly suspect that Gallifreyan psychiatry runs much along the lines of "take this suicide pill and call me in the morning if the drums persist", so maybe there's a certain amount of incentive to keep a lid on one's sanity-impairment.

Romana of the Gallifrey audios is so much more interesting once you realize what she went through with the Daleks. And it also makes me even more convinced that she was President again during the Time War. After 20 years as their slave, I firmly believe she would be willing to wipe out her own people to prevent the Daleks from winning.
