My thoughts on Gallifrey: "Pandora" were best expressed in the form of a Facebook mock-up.

I always forget that Braxiatel's long game at this stage essentially boiled down to:

1. Screw Romana.
2. ????
3. Profit!!!! Presidency!!!

Point 1 may be taken as metaphorically as you wish.  I am always amused at how much the chancellor-investiture scene sounds like the wedding ceremony for a marriage of convenience, with the organ and the "what made you change your mind?" and AND AND!!!!

And after going into exile, Braxiatel learns of the inevitability of Gallifrey's destruction, but the steps he takes to preserve it are even sketchier than the stunts he was pulling as Romana's William Cecil.  Most of which were basically okay, aside from all the times he was giving Romana enough rope to hang herself with.  Possibly the ends justify the means.  I really must listen to the Benny audios.

What am I agreeing with again?

That Brax is Romana's Cecil (and Narvin is her Walsingham and the Doctor is her Leicester), yo.

Oh, yes. Excellent. Actually, I had to look Cecil up, because I fail at Elizabethan history, but then I flailed at your rightness.

The best part is that haven't actually heard any of those audios. Intuition, dude!

I would just like to say, it's not that I have too much time on my hands, but I don't like watching TV without doing something, and since I don't sew or knit, I either draw or play in Photoshop. Braxiatel's Facebook page = Project Runway Australia.

The more I hear about the Gallifrey series, the less I want to listen to them.

They're kind of complete fail except for the USTy bits, but...

I preferred it when Delgado played the Doctor's brother. That was style.

(Yah, I know all about the blah blah blah. Me, I heard it from Pertwee's lips, so I pay the naysayers little heed.)

Hurrah! I thought I was the only person in the universe who still likes the idea of the Master as the Doctor's (even more disgraceful) brother.

I saw Hartnell, I saw Troughton. But Pertwee will always be my Doctor.

I love the "Religious Views" bit.

And Brax is by far the best bit of most of the Benny that he's in. I heartily recommend Mirror Effect to you, but I won't say why I think you'll like it as it's spoilery.

I really must listen to the Benny audios.

You KNOW that I couldn't possibly agree more. You are torturing me because I want to discuss them with you SO BADLY. ::sigh::

But yes, his long game in the Gallifrey audios was...sketchily considered at best. Luckily (or extremely unluckily) he gets a lot better at the planning.

i am afraid to listen to the benny audios because i am slightly in love with brax from the gallifrey series, and his actions in the benny audios seem to make him sound... er... dodgy. AT BEST.

MAJOR understatement. However, he does get some amazingly awesome lines. And he excels at being a bastard. So, I still highly recommend the Benny audios. (And I was a little in love with him too. He's hard to resist.)

dammit. i will have to listen to them, won't i? otherwise i will be the fannish equivalent of the person who doesnt like reading a people's history of the united states because it's "disillusioning".

bastardy, here i come! er, at some point.

AT BEST, he pwns the Master for effectiveness at evil overlording. Or so I've gathered. Then I laugh uproariously, and write fic.

come on, *i* could pwn the master for effectiveness at evil overlording! i love him, but it's true. he's what many might call "incompetent", or, more charitably, "lacking in focus".

this is like when you love that teacher at school, and then figure out that they're part of horrible system of oppression and not only don't they particularly mind but they rather approve of it, isn't it? ;______;

Even Voldemort > the Master, sometimes. Despite similar focus problems. Having a mortal enemy will do that, I guess.

And yes, that's exactly what it's like. I hope you're empathising with Romana right now.
