Fail is mitigated by cake, tea and memes

So I got to work, only to discover that I'd gotten my shifts mixed up, and I didn't start for another three and a half hours. Fortunately,
suburbannoir was at uni a couple of blocks away, and she only laughed at me a little as she picked me up. Had she not been in the neighbourhood, I'd have hung around work reading the magazines, but it's for the best -- now I'm eating cake and drinking tea, plus I was reading an interview with Dirk Benedict when she texted me, and that sort of thing never ends well. Did you know that all British TV is aimed at women, and is therefore inferior? I guess my old assistant manager really was wrong when he said that girls couldn't watch Top Gear.
Here's that meme where I list fifteen OTPs and people try and spot trends. Only I'm ignoring that bit where you're not supposed to double up fandoms, because then I'd have to list every possible variation of Doctor/Romana just to get my fifteen. In something vaguely approaching chronological order:
Jo/Bhaer, Little Women
Picard/Beverly, Star Trek: The Next Generation
Bridger/Westphalen, seaQuest DSV
Janeway/Chakotay, Star Trek: Voyager
Aral/Cordelia, The Vorkosigan Saga
Janeway/Kashyk, Star Trek: Voyager
Snape/Lily, Harry Potter
Harry/Ginny, Harry Potter
Jack/Irina, Alias
Holmes/Russell, Mary Russell
Russell/Wimsey, Mary Russell and Lord Peter Wimsey
Russell/Mahmoud, Mary Russell
Doctor/Romana (all incarnations), Doctor Who
Romana/Braxiatel, Doctor Who
Romana/Duggan, Doctor Who
(My own observations: seven of the fifteen have age differences of twenty years or more, I am a cheerful multishipper, I laugh at Jo/Laurie shippers, all my pairings also function as partnerships in a professional or political sense, although in several cases this is purely temporary. "They fight crime!" would summarise nearly all, although two couples are more likely to be committing crime -- Jack/Irina and (oddly enough) Harry/Ginny. Snape/Pain only just missed the list. By a nose, you might say.)
