The two remaining actually-YA shortlistees were both offered via NetGalley. They proved more difficult than I liked to get into my Kindle app (had to set up a NetGalley account, authorise my Kindle account to receive files from that address, etc).
When they finally landed, they both proved to be poorly formatted and difficult to read. They might be masterpieces, but obviously the publisher didn't care to let the voters find out.
With only one shortlisted book both eligible and physically readable, I've decided that I cannot reasonably vote for the Lodestar this year.

Date: 2020-06-28 12:45 pm (UTC)I'm reading it off hardcopy, because it was one of the ones that my favourite bricks'n'mortar bookshop had on the shelf when the short list came out, and I really really don't want them going under (as in, I bought everything they had that was on the Hugo etc ballot as well as some stuff for the offspring, and walked out with about $400 worth of books)
ETA: missed that the other was Deeplight. Shame about that one - there are some seriously good sections to that one.
