Hello, Wednesday!

I love Wednesdays, because they're my mid-week day off.  Here is today's to-do list:

- sleep in
- go to Bridge Road, acquire new skinny jeans and a bra that isn't secretly scheming to kill me with its underwire HOW CAN A STORE BE FULL OF BRAS, YET HAVE NO NICE ONES IN MY SIZE? Oh, it was full of lacy, fancy 14G bras, but none of them were plain, comfortable and supportive all at once! It's not that I don't like lacy, fancy bras, but they don't last at all!
- come home, work on Avatar Big Bang

I'm going to Sydney this weekend, and at one point I'd had grand and responsible plans to have the damn fic finished and off to betas before SQUIDCATION.  But right now, I'd settle for "closer to the end than before".

Now, I'm going to have breakfast and embark on today's expedition.  I leave you all with a question to ponder:  why are there so many Azula/Sokka fics?  Why do so many people look at Azula and think, "Yes!  What she really needs is the love of a good man!"?

*patpat* Yes dear. ;) (I'm actually unbelievably DISINTERESTED in pairing either Azula or Toph with anyone we canonically know - I think both of them would go have lives and meet interesting people and be the least likely to be caught in the little emotional black hole that is the Gaang. But I am, like, in the tiniest of tiny minorities here, and I know that.)

No, that is totally a sensible approach. Because otherwise the Gaang becomes incredibly incestuous (...not literally, hopefully), and a break-up would become a pure sitcom situation.

It's also a common Thing I have with shipping in almost all my fandoms. Like, you know, sometimes people date outside their friends groups/coworker pool/group of comrades! It's weird! /silly-snark But for Toph I've always had this half-formed idea that some day she will just show up to some Gaang gathering with a significant other in tow, possibly literally. She found him/her! Isn't he/she neat? Now everyone be nice or she will DROP YOU DOWN CANYON.

And if/when Azula finds anyone, she tells no one. She does not want to DEAL with that shit. /dork But on the other hand, I totally get shipping a pairing/grouping so much that one is like, NO, YOU ARE ALL WRONG at everyone else they could possibly be paired with, so I hope I am not coming off snotty about that or anything.

That's Korean actress Han Go Eun! For some reason she's usually cast as the bitchy and unlikeable secondary character, but then in Capital Scandal she played BATMAN a courtesan who was secretly an assassin for the resistance during the Japanese occupation of Korea. I LOVE HER.
