Election time brings the wacky

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been kind of mourning the lack of batshit in this election. Aside from the now-disendorsed Liberal candidate who declared himself the voice of God, there's been a general reluctance to break out the crazy sauce. Or even the interesting sauce.
But tonight, that all changed. As I left the station this evening, a smiling middle-aged man thrust a leaflet into my hand. The front looked like this:

With a beginning like that, I knew it had to be good, so I accepted it with thanks, quickly skimmed it, then rushed home to share it with the internet.
(...that was a couple of hours ago. I had to shower! And eat!)

Date: 2010-07-27 10:27 am (UTC)ETA: All was revealed in the closely typed pages of the CEC's monthly journal, an intimidatingly wordy organ that, between attacks on Mel Gibson and Hermann Goering, also lifted the lid on "the pro-Hitler Fascist Origins of the Liberal Party". Not that other parties were much better, all of them being controlled by some tentacle or other of global capital, even the Greens. Surely not, asked a member of the audience. Indeed, said Mr Isherwood. Didn't the Duke of Edinburgh himself create the World Wide Fund for Nature in the late '60s? What further proof do you need?
I AM SO CONFUSED!

Date: 2010-07-27 11:00 am (UTC)My electorate is strongly Liberal and has been since it was Malcolm Fraser's seat. But the current MP is retiring after a billion years, and both Labor and Liberal have seen fit to send down candidates from Melbourne (the worst sin of all!) so there's buckets of Independents jumping in now. Fun times!

Date: 2010-07-27 10:37 am (UTC)Oh God. I suppose it's not quite as stupid as the stuff about the Fabians, but that's still so bloody daft I don't know where to start...

Date: 2010-07-27 11:27 am (UTC)Is it bad that after twenty years of squeeing every time someone even says the words "federal election", I just want this one to be over already? I seem to have lost my political squee. :(
